Philosopher Foods

Philosopher Foods was born from a passion for food, philosophy, and activism. Our founder, Tim, sought a meaningful way to align his values with his vocation. His journey led him to sprouting and fermenting nuts, unlocking deeper nutrition and flavor while supporting regenerative agriculture.

It all started in a cooperative house in Davis, California, where Tim experimented with sprouted almonds and created the best Almond Butter he and his housemates had ever tasted. Encouraged by their enthusiasm and the passage of the California Homemade Food Act, he launched the business from his home kitchen. What started as a small cottage operation has grown into our dedicated production space in Santa Rosa, where we continue to craft our unique products today.
